The Southwest Georgia Film Commission, in association with the HennyPenny Video/Television Production and Training Program, a 501c3 nonprofit video television training facility, is housed at the Jokara-Micheaux Production Studio in Colquitt, Georgia. The HennyPenny Training Program is part of the programs of study at Bainbridge College in Bainbridge, Georgia, and Andrew College in Cuthbert, Georgia. HennyPenny also collaborates with several regional high schools, charter schools, and Florida State University Film School. Students of all ages continue to train in all of the disciplines of the film and television industry. The HennyPenny Training Program is very comprehensive and encompasses both the performance, technical and business aspects of the entertainment industry (camera, lights, audio, hair, make-up, wardrobe, scriptwriting, set construction, editing, graphic design, acting, etc.). Offering hands on training and discipline, students develop their skills by working as paid apprentices on professional productions. Many of the students worked on Jokara-Micheaux Production’s first feature film, Hope & Redemption: The Lena Baker Story, which was shot entirely in Southwest Georgia. |
